Pink Ribbon Riders

Cheryl and Rocky from Extreme Team Films came over last weekend and they invited me to go along and film some of their riders with them. On Friday, we had an awesome day of sun and powder at Indian Creek. Got some great footage too!

Thursday, I am headed to Togwotee with Kort Duce and the Western Editor of American Snowmobiler Magazine, Stephen Clark. The Pink Ribbon Riders are hosting their 2nd Annual Wyoming Snow Run. It will be a good time for a good cause and is open to the public if you register.

Thanks and be safe out there!

UPDATE

So we went out riding a few more times with The Hoff brothers and also Jeremy Simmons to film for the Extreme Team. We have been getting some stellar footage! DEEP pow and some huge hits.

This Friday, Stephen Clark, Kort Duce, and myself are going to Grand Lake, CO to ride and photograph the 2010 model year snowmobiles for a week. I had the opportunity to go last year and it was a lot of fun and I got to see a lot of familiar faces.

Friend and colleague Hans Wärdell has started an incredible snowmobile lifestyle site called Redsherpa.com. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed! It's free to join and has tons of breath-taking photography and lots of other cool stuff.

Riding at Indian Creek 2-7-09

We went out with Rob Hoff and Tim Hoff from Alpine and Jackson respectively.  Now that I am semi-retired from the sled film gig, I can shoot freelance for other video companies.  Rob and Tim ride for Extreme Team Films and we got some exceptional footage on saturday.  Both of these guys are skilled rippers and grasp a solid understanding of technical mountain free-riding.

We started the day by shooting some drops that demanded perfect execution due to tree speckled landing zones.  We also got a LOT of  sick pow turns and some big air.  This was the first time I had been on the snow with these guys and I surely hope it is not the last.  Regardless of the great filming, these guys are real people and are very fun to ride with.

Tim's XP was out of commission so he rode a borrowed 07 Rev and sessioned the mountain all day.  Rob's super pimped out XP was ripping hard until the bottom end literally exploded into his belly pan.  At least this happened at the end of the day.  Rob rode amazingly well which was surprising since he was working with some separated ribs.  His ribs were damaged in a non-snowmobile related "incident."  Good story but not mine to tell.

I didn't take any stills but perhaps I can post some frames of video if I can find the time.

Riding at Indian Creek 2-4-09

We went out with professional photographers Kort Duce and Stephen Clark  for an awesome ride in the pow and sunshine.  I even had the opportunity to roll one of Kort's sleds!

Pictures coming soon!

The Ogden boys were up there too and Zack executed a HUGE drop.  Sadly it was a little flat and he broke his back and some ribs from what I understand.  We didn't get to see the drop but saw the line afterwards.  It was SICK and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Riding in Alpine 1-30-09

We went riding out of Alpine again last Friday. After days of snow, it was some much needed sunshine. The snow in the trees and canyons was epicly deep but near and above the tree line it was wind impacted and unstable.
We did some filming of Jeremy Simmons for the Extreme Team guys and got a few big jumps and some good pow turns. The day was going great until the track on an RMK 600 completely snapped in half. That pretty much ended the day! I will see if I can get some pictures from Slim to add to the blog.
Thanks for stopping by!

Outdoor Retailer Show

So we went down to the OR Show in SLC last friday. It was a hippie filled day of fun. I think there were as many dogs as people there. We did see some cool new stuff from the major ski/boarder clothing manufacturers though.

It was a cool show and we learned a lot but I don't have any pictures. (Nothing was that cool.)

Now I am waiting for sun so we can go rip up all this fresh POW!
